EXCLUSIVE: Lokoja Varsity Congratulates CGC Adeniyi over Re-election as Chairperson of WCO Council

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Lokoja, Prof. Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, has congratulated the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, CGC Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, on his well-deserved re-election as Chairperson of the World Customs Organisation (WCO) Council.

The VC conveyed this congratulatory message on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Senate, staff, students, and the entire Federal University of Lokoja community..

In a message sent by the institution and exclusively obtained by The Spynews, the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, Prof. Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, writes to CGC Adeniyi: ‘On behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Senate, staff, students, and the entire community, I heartily congratulate the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, CGC Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, on his well-deserved re-election as Chairperson of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Council.

This historic re-election, according to Prof. Ibileye, “is a resounding affirmation of your exceptional leadership, professional excellence, unwavering integrity, and the immense confidence reposed in you by the global customs community. It is a remarkable personal achievement and a source of immense pride for Nigeria, Africa, and indeed the international Customs fraternity.

In a message to CGC Adeniyi as one of its accomplished PhD graduates, the University wrote, “Your continued rise to global prominence reflects the ideals of excellence, diligence, and transformational leadership that our University seeks to nurture. Your sterling accomplishments continue to inspire our students, staff, alumni, and the younger generation to aspire to greatness through commitment, discipline, and service to humanity

“Your re-election to lead the highest decision-making body of the World Customs Organization further reinforces Nigeria’s growing influence in global trade facilitation, customs administration, and international cooperation.
