Kogi Forest Raid: Security Forces Rescue 10 Abducted NYSC Members

Security forces have rescued 10 of the 15 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members abducted by suspected kidnappers in Kogi State .

They were rescued on Monday at Egume Forest in Ofu Local Government Area, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Michael Onoja, disclosed.

Speaking at a briefing for journalists at the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), Onoja said the operation was still ongoing to rescue the remaining victims and apprehend the kidnappers.

The members were abducted on Friday while travelling from Abuja to Bayelsa State after completing their orientation camp.

He urged the public to remain calm and vigilant, and to promptly report any suspicious activity or information that could help security forces rescue the remaining victims and arrest the perpetrators.

The Nation reports that the kidnappers demanded N20 million in ransom from the families of some of the victims.
