Alleged Air Force Bombing Kills Seven Local Vigilantes in Niger

A suspected military strike by a Nigerian Air Force jet killed seven vigilantes and injured eight on Thursday in Niger State’s Kukoki-Bassa community.
The blast, it was gathered, struck a camp of vigilantes—known locally as the DSS Hunters—as they gathered to plan a response to reported bandit activity near the community
According to sources, the injured were rushed to IBB Specialist Hospital in Minna. Several individuals sustained severe injuries, including the complete loss of both legs
Ayuba Umar Kamas, commander of the Kukoki vigilante group, stated that three aircraft appeared overhead before one dropped a bomb on their position. He reported that the blast killed seven people, including four victims from Kukoki, one from Bassa, and three from Matuku.
Local sources reported that the Air Force team targeted the wrong area despite having intelligence on terrorist movements.
Witnesses said the wounded were rushed to a Minna hospital, initially using motorcycles for evacuation.
