Nigerian Ports Authority Mourns Former Chief Executive Bamanga Tukur

Bamanga Tukur, who served as the General Manager and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) from 1975 to 1982, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the age of 90..
In a statement signed by Corporate Affairs General Manager Ikechukwu Onyemekara, NPA MD/CEO Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho expressed his deepest condolences to the family of the late business mogul, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the people of Adamawa State.
Dantsoho, who joined the Executive Governor of Adamawa to receive the body, described the late businessman as “a pillar of trade facilitation and an inspiration to many.”.
The NPA management prayed for the repose of Tukur’s soul and strength for his family and loved ones to bear the loss.
