Osun 2026 Election: I had no deal with ADC – Gov Adeleke Replies Bolaji Abdullahi

Governor Ademola Adeleke has dismissed claims by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that it played a role in his re-election victory in Osun State.

ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, had attributed the party’s poor performance—securing 17,180 votes—to its alleged decision to work for Adeleke in order to prevent the All Progressives Congress (APC) from winning.

Reacting to the claim, Adeleke denied having any electoral deal or partnership with the ADC before, during, or after the governorship election.

Through his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor said: “Governor Adeleke credits God and the people of Osun for his re-election victory. ADC was never part of the coalition that canvassed and supported his battle for last Saturday’s election.”

He commended political partners who sacrificed to make the aspirations of Osun people a reality, but stressed that the ADC was not among them.

“I commend political partners who went all out to make Saturday a victory day for all Osun people. But for the sake of history, we must clarify that ADC was never part of the alliance,” Adeleke said.

He added: “Now that the election is over, I am governor of all Osun people, irrespective of political groups, religion, or race.”
